Live Wedding Painting

A unique experience for you and your guests, where I paint your special moment while you celebrate with loved ones

  • Sure, wedding photos can capture a lot, but a painting gives you a different way to remember your special day. With live painting, you and your guests get to watch the painting come together as the celebration goes on. It is so fun when your guests get to see it take shape right before their eyes. It then becomes a meaningful keepsake that will bring you back to the moment for years to come.

    1. Tell me about your day

      Once you reach out and get your date booked, we will chat about what you would love painted and any other special detail about your special day.

    2. Setting the scene on the day of

      On your wedding day, I’ll arrive two to three hours before the ceremony so that I can take in the setting and excitement of the day and find the perfect spot to set up and paint. If we need to, this would also be the time to take reference photos of the moment you want painted. Then I’ll get to work painting the background.

    3. After the ceremony

      I will move to the reception and will start painting the couple. This is where your guests get to watch the painting come to life!

    4. Final touches

      I take the painting home to add final details. I will send you a picture of the finished painting for your approval, and then I varnish it to protect it for years to come.

    5. Your finished painting

      Once your painting is finished, we discuss how and when you want to receive it. Your one-of-a-kind keepsake for you to enjoy!

Even if it was years ago, if you have a favorite wedding photograph that you’d love to see as a painting, I can create a custom piece for you in my studio. Whether it’s your first dance, walking down the aisle, a quiet moment together, or another part of your day that means something to you, your photograph can become a one-of-a-kind work of art to enjoy for years to come. Also makes a great gift!

What type of paint do you use?

I use acrylic at the wedding, and if you’re interested, I finish up in oil at home. It gives it a richer and softer look. But I can always finish in acrylic too!

Yes! For live weddings, I require a 30% retainer (non-refundable) to lock in your date. The remaining 70% is due two weeks before your wedding. We can also discuss a payment plan.

For a painting from a photo, I require a 50% deposit, and the remaining 50% is due upon completion.

Turnaround time can vary depending on the number of paintings I have in progress. I’ll give you an estimated completion timeline when we discuss your painting, and I’ll keep you updated along the way. And oil will take longer than acrylic.

What happens if I need to cancel my live wedding painting?

I understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Because your retainer reserves your wedding date and prevents me from booking another couple for that date, the retainer is non-refundable. Any remaining balance you have paid will be refunded according to the terms of your agreement.

I take your wedding date and my commitment to you seriously. In the unlikely event that I need to cancel due to an emergency or circumstances beyond my control, I will let you know as soon as possible and will refund all payments you have made to me. I’ll also do my best to help you find another artist.

What if you need to cancel?

Absolutely! I’m based in Indiana and currently travel throughout the state for weddings. A travel fee based on mileage may apply depending on the location.

If your wedding is outside Indiana, I’d still love to chat! I’m happy to travel farther for destination weddings when flights and accommodations are covered.
